Truly seamless travel

Turn any smartphone into a kiosk with ReadID NFC identity verification.

Using ICAO Doc 9303 standards, identity documents from over 170 countries can be read and verified with any modern smartphone. Advanced cryptography means any manipulation or duplication attempt will be detected.

The high-resolution face image on the chip is an ideal starting point for face verification via biometrics for holder binding.

How does it work?

A passenger can verify their identity in minutes using Inverid's ReadID solution and holder verification via a partner orchestration.

ReadID's SDK can be implemented into an existing app or our ready-made app can be used with carrier branding.

The end user scans the MRZ of their electronic identity document and reads the NFC chip. Using our database of country signing certificates, we authenticate the data within the identity document chip.

Part of the data read from the chip is the original high-resolution face image, which is more effective for liveness checks than an image of an image captured via optical technology.

EES Travel to Europe App

The EES QuickBorder "APP4EES" pilot was conducted using ReadID. The QuickBorder pilot ran operationally for 6 weeks starting May 2024. The results were independently tested and were very encouraging.

Inverid's ReadID, together with partner iProov's facial verification, are the verification technology inside the Travel to Europe app from the European border agency Frontex.

This app is available to European Member States to use for their implementation of the Entry/Exit System.
